When I just got my 3D printer in 2017 I wanted to get it set up, then print a design of my own. It really intrigued me to see a 3D model on my screen get translated in to three dimensions of plastic. In this case I decided to make a dragonborn DnD character for a friend. I did this by adjusting a basic human model to an exciting pose and added some key features like the dragon/reptile head and his large cape. The model was created in Autodesk Maya but getting good renders was a challenge since this model would have to be UV mapped so rendering in Autodesk Fusion produced great results.

I printed the character with supports and in separate parts so the daggers and the cape could be removed. My friend requested a box to keep it protected which I also printed and molded some high density foam within. This was a fun project to see the limits of my printer and how detailed I could make it without any extensive sanding and painting. Now 2 years later I've started playing DnD myself and intrigued to see the creations I can create for the upcoming sessions.
